How to Protect Your BMW and Your Wallet with a BMW Extended Warranty

What words would you use to describe a BMW? Upscale, ritzy, luxurious, or maybe sophisticated? The truth is that this list could go on forever. BMW considers itself to be “The Ultimate Driving Machine“.

Often, they do live up to the name. All over the world, BMW has become known as a cultural icon, and it attracts a particular clientele. To some, a BMW is thought of to be a powerful statement. Having a BMW can be considered either as a status or a sex symbol. However, when you receive the repair bill, it can be a nightmare to find the money for. Now that you have a BMW, you do not feel like it is a burden to repair and return; all you need is a BMW extended warranty.

There is a specific unique factor to the nameplate of a BMW. Just know that if you buy a BMW, you know you are paying for a premium along with it. After buying such a costly vehicle, you should know that the repairs will also be relatively expensive. You will be spending at least $30,000 to upwards of $50,000 for this type of vehicle, and it can feel just like an expensive repair ticket sometimes.

While the factory warranty for a BMW is reasonably standard in comparison with other vehicles, it is where your personal pocketbook can be left liable for the costly repairs after they are no longer on the BMW’s dime. It is also important to remember that you will likely have to pay for the necessary repairs out of your pocket before you consider trading or selling your BMW.

So, instead of needing to dip into savings to afford your vehicle repairs, why not get a BMW extended warranty to help you deal with your repairs cost? The labor rate per hour in the United States is currently at a new all-time high, and it seems that the cost for each new vehicle make and model rises more as time goes on. The bad news is that these rising costs really affect luxury vehicles, such as BMWs.

BMW Manufacturer’s Warranty

If you bought your vehicle or SUV between 2016 to the present, then you qualify for a special package that is standard for the first three years, or for up to 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Here are some of the benefits of this type of plan:

  • Cabin Microfilter(s)
  • Engine Oil
  • Vehicle Check
  • Engine Filter
  • Brake Fluid
  • Fuel Filter (Diesel engines only)
  • Engine Air Filter(s)
  • Spark Plugs
  • Remote Control/Key Battery

There is also a plan for any vehicle for vehicles that are made no older than 2014, which is the BMW Maintenance Program. This program works a lot like the answer from BMW for a Vehicle Service contract. These provide BMW owners the opportunity to pre-pay the scheduled routine service they need without expecting wear and tear.

This program will offer protection for 50,000 miles or for the first four years, whichever comes first. There are not many other options available for extending the factory warranty for BMWs. So what should individuals do that have older vehicles?

The company does not do this from malice; it is just the automaker’s nature to continuously want drivers to purchase newer models even if the current model could last for many years.

The biggest catch to all of BMW’s options is that all of them are only available to the first buyer of the vehicle. To put it plainly, BMW Warranties are not transferable beyond the household, they originate in. So, if you plan to give the BMW to a married spouse or a kid of yours, they will have the warranty. The problem is that if you plan on selling it to someone or buying from someone that isn’t family, then the warranty will not be transferred.

The Extended Warranty Options Eligible For Used BMWs

If you are buying a used BMW or your original warranty has expired, you can purchase an extended BMW warranty. This is called the Powertrain Plus Warranty and is offered directly from BMW.

There is still a catch: The BMW Vehicle in question must always have less than 80,000 miles. If the odometer reads higher than that, then the vehicle is not eligible for this warranty, either. It also can’t have more than seven years of service on it. It could be more than seven years old but not in use for those seven years.

If by chance, the BMW Vehicle meets these two requirements, then it could be eligible for one of the following service terms available to BMW Consumers.

  • 36,000 Miles or 36 Months.
  • 24,000 Miles or 24 Months.
  • 12,000 Miles or 12 Months.

BMW Vehicle Owners whose cars are still eligible for the Factory Warranty are welcome to purchase and use the previous plans listed but can also use any of the following three options that BMW offers:

  • 100,000 Miles or 7 Years.
  • 70,000 Miles or 7 Years.
  • 100,000 Miles or 6 Years.
  • 100,000 Miles or 5 Years.

Keep in mind that the time and mileage requirements above are strictly for BMWs that are still under factory warranty. The original factory warranty is based on the initial in-service date from when the odometer read “000000.0” miles. It does not start at the time of the enrollment of the Extended Warranty Program.

An excellent example of this is when a new car is purchased on 1/1/2020 and is enrolled with a 6-year or 100,000 miles extended warranty. The contract expiration date will be 12/31/2025 or when the odometer reaches 100,000 miles.

This point is stressed because many drivers believe that their coverage from their warranty starts at the first repair service, but that’s simply not true. Also, and BMW warranty covered repair still has a deductible of $50 per visit. However, every Certified Pre-Owned BMW or New BMW comes with some type of warranty or warranties to guarantee the customer some peace of mind.

Is There A Pre-Owned Certified Extended Warranty with BMW?

Some vehicles from BMW are considered to be certified pre-owned through the local dealerships; however, what does this certification mean, and what does it cover? With BMW pre-owned vehicles, you only have one year of coverage with unlimited vehicle miles.

Once the first year is over, you have a 50,000 mile or four year warranty with BMW’s new vehicle limited warranty. This is only for light trucks and passenger cars. Therefore, a pre-owned sum of BMWs is just covered for about five years. Owner’s are only getting five years of BMW roadside assistance.

Breakdowns in the BMW itself and defects are not protected against BMW’s Certified Pre-Owned Protection Plan. Coverage is not the same with the Maintenance Program or the original 50,000 mile/4-year optional extensions of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Light Trucks and Passenger Vehicles.

Not all BMW owners are comfortable with the five years of coverage, even if they decide to drive every mile they possibly can under this type of plan.

What Does it Cost to Fix BMWs?

Knowing how much it costs to fix your BMW can be overwhelming as the prices seem to skyrocket as the years go by. The only thing you should be concerned with is getting a BMW extended warranty from A+ Assembly Services. That way, you can stop worrying about the costs of repairs.

Now the bad news is that technically, we cannot sell an extended warranty to you. No one can do this, with BMW itself as the exception. However, you can buy a vehicle service contract. This service contract has the same purpose as a BMW extended warranty does. It will pay for labor, parts, and even tax costs for repairs.

A service plan can only be called a warranty if it was provided directly from the manufacturer. This means that anything that is called a BMW extended warranty will need to be sold by and produced by BMW. Although BMW does not call the products, they are known as “BMW Extended Vehicle Protection.”

Why Should You Choose a BMW Extended Warranty that Does Not Come From BMW?

Looking for an extended warranty can be as easy as knowing who you should trust. A+ Assembly Services helps you discover critical information you need to know as a vehicle owner, including all the claims history that BMW owners, reliability ratings, and customer reviews.

The most obvious reason for this comes from the price. Typically the third-party service plans will cost less than others. The reason for this lower cost comes from the fact that it comes directly to the consumer from the source.

Most of the service payments that are available for purchase at the dealership are precisely the same as the ones that we offer. BMW dealerships do offer a type of vehicle protection, but the price may make your head spin. It is essential to choose a service contract that will save you money.

A new or used vehicle can have a vehicle service contract placed on it at any time, while most dealers require service plans being purchased at the time of sale for new vehicles. No matter if your car has 100 miles or 100,000 miles, A+ Assembly Services can offer you coverage for your car.

Well-respected, reputable insurance companies always back any extended BMW warranties offered by A+ Assembly Services that all have an efficient and prompt manner and long histories of paying their claims.

A+ Assembly Services offers all our policies utterly free of risk. We provide our customers with an opportunity to try any of our products with a 30-day risk-free money-back guarantee. Our business is passionate about offering the best possible warranty coverage available.
